Sculpture

Through a diversity of materials, philosophies and solutions, sculpture students are encouraged to mine the boundaries of their potential, challenge the notions of contemporary art and be a creative force in the evolution of our culture. All of this takes place in an environment of high expectations regarding self-motivation, intellectual capacity and responsibility. Sculpture students are encouraged to explore many media, to meet a wide range of visiting artists from all over the country, and to experiment with various ways of working. The sculpture program, utilizing approximately 7,000 square feet of studio space, maintains an experimental approach while supporting traditional media. Equipped shops include wood, metals, foundry, plaster and new media. The goal of this program is to give students an atmosphere conducive to self-determination and intellectual growth.
