The School of Art, Art History & Design offers undergraduate students the choice between a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree, providing intensive training and specialization in your chosen artistic practice, or a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree that allows students to explore a wide range of electives for a broader arts education.

Studio Art

Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)

With a BFA, you’ll have more studio hours and fewer electives, letting you focus on mastering your craft. With a BA, you’ll have more room to explore electives and other academic interests, with many opting to double major in a second subject.

With a BA in Art History and Criticism, you’ll analyze, research, write on and discuss art in its various contexts, building a foundation to pursue a variety of careers in the arts.

Graphic Design

Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)

Merge creativity with visual communication with graphic design. A BA will have you merge your degree with a secondary area of study, while a BFA offers more intensive studio time to flourish as a graphic designer.
